Current working definition: An organization is a faction if its creator/owner thinks of it as one.

We need a better definition, preferably one that allows there to be groups that aren't factions. Ameryll Windwalker suggests level of fanaticism as a useful measure of clan-ness.--BozoCat 10:35, 16 Mar 2007 (PST)
