Abilities
Occult Magic
Constance can command many kinds of spirits and elementals. Either through complex spells, simple incantations, or sheer willpower.
Angelic Magic
Her heredity (the daughter of an ArchAngel, descendant of Beowulf) allows Constance to command the angels themselves. In need she can call not only on her own Guardian Angel, Zerachiel, but she can command various Seraphim and other angles below that rank. Occasionally, she may ask the aid of ArchAngels, though the need must be great. If such a situation, she could conceivably call upon the ArchAngel Michael himself. She can also use many of the abilities of any of the angels by Invoking them through much simpler spells and commands.
Transformation
Constance can also transform into her true form: A powerful angelic body.
History
Beginning
Constance DeRoux was born in poverty the daughter of a street walker and raised on thievery. Her mother, Ynes DeRoux was once the heiress to a wealthy formerly noble family. After she squandered the family fortune on selfish pastimes she eventually descended to the streets to scrape out a living selling her body. Constance, she thought, was a mistake. However she saw an opportunity to make her life a bit easier. She raised Constance to pick pockets and beg, and eventually planned to use her own daughters body to augment her meager earnings. Ynes was twisted in the way she raised Constance. She was punished severely for mistakes in theft, taught that she was filth, not even human, that her only purpose was to obey her mother.
By the age of thirteen, while young Yseult was an expert pickpocket and an accomplished cat burglar, she was also a deeply troubled girl. Her mother had been forced to teach her to read in order to facilitate her skills in burglary. Constance learned quickly, an indication of her sharp intelligence, already shown by her astounding talents as a thief. With severe kleptomania already in it beginning stages, Yseult stole a bible from the rectory of an old church, along with a valuable church artifact. Since she wasn't allowed to have books of her own she turned it into her mother, who allowed her to keep it, seeing no harm and viewing it as a reward, since the artifact had sold well.
Finding God
Yseult was captivated by the book. The more she read the more she became convinced that God was speaking to her through every word she read. However, the wisdom of the book contradicted what she had been taught throughout her short life. Already desperate to please a mother who seemed nearly impossible to please, frightened by every theft, and continually filled with the self-loathing taught by her mother, Yseult had no idea what to do. She instinctively knew that her mother would be no help, but her enforced social isolation left her with no one to talk to. Research proved to be more confusing, extreme interpretations and outright falsehoods cunningly presented assaulted the young girls inquisitive mind. Therefore, she did the only thing she believed she could do, she went to God and his nearest representative on earth.
The elderly priest who found the adolescent girl weeping on his doorstep, clutching his old bedside bible, and begging for forgiveness was initially at a loss as to what he should do. She was malnourished, since Yseult had wandered for a week after running from her mother before working up the courage to face the person she had stolen from. So the old clergyman did what he once done as a missionary in his youth, he fed a hungry child. Over the course of the meal, the priest inquired why Constance had stolen the bible, an easily replaceable trifle, along with the relic. After explaining, Yseult begged the priest to tell her how she might be absolved of her numerous sins. She was terrified of the idea of Hell, and knew that her life of thievery surely had already condemned her. The priest Asked her to tell him of all of her sins. Hours later, Yseult's first Confession was completed. Throughout it, the priest asked for Yseult's feelings on every matter. He quickly discerned the girl was much more than her surface indicated. He saw natural intelligence, kindness, and especially purity and innocence. Although he was merely a priest of no special calling or power, he had a friend who knew a great deal about such things, an old catholic mystic and scholar.
The priest invited Yseult to stay with him for a while, and he would teach her what he could. Yseult readily agreed, feeling safer and more at peace than she ever had in the past. The kindly priest was soft spoken and had already told her her sins were forgiven for eternity. For a while, she stayed and helped her new mentor with the business of keeping the rectory and the church clean. When the priests friend the mystic arrived, Yseult was the first to meet him at the door.
Revelation
The mystic, who had done many things with his divine power as a healer, exorcist, holy warrior and scholar, was instantly astounded by the aura of the girl. Though he kept his knowlege to himself initially. He heard from the priest Yseult's story, and talked with the girl for several hours before taking the final step. He summoned that guardian angel of that church and requested the holy being to confirm or deny his conjectures. The angel agreed. Through an hours long process, the mystic discovered his suspicions correct. Yseult was actually the mortal daughter of an angel, though he could not determine who. Most of the process was spent attempting to determine the identity of Yseult's father.
Finally a second angel appeared, identifying himself as the The ArchAngel Zerachiel. Zerachiel informed the mystic and the priest that the girl was actually the daughter of another Archangel, Raphael. It turned out that Raphael had befriended many Grigori who had escaped being bound until Judgment Day. He had sought to help them redeem themselves in Gods eyes, and return them to Heaven. Unfortunately, he was tricked into impregnating an apparently common whore, in the hopes that the union would produce a supremely powerful Nephilim. The plot had worked, in a way. However, Zerachiel, at Raphaels request, before he went to endure his punishment, had chosen to personally watch over the child and protect her. He discovered that Yseult's mother was descended from the offspring none other than Beowulf. The heritage countered the angelic genetics somewhat and had produced a very gentle but powerful little girl rather than a monster. He had blessed the priests bible in order to attract her to it and eventually lead her to him and through him, the mystic.
The mystic realized there was only one place for the girl to learn to control her innate power. Zerachiel, seeing into the mystics mind, knew he was no longer needed and left them. Apparently returning to his self-appointed post of watching over her distantly. The guardian angel of the church itself also disappeared, returning to his own post.
A new Life
When asked if she wished to serve God, Yseult was ecstatic. Although the revelations of her birthright were hidden from her, she was told she possessed a unique power, given to her by God. When Yseult asked how she could use this power, the mystic told her that those who could teach her were members of a holy militant order, the Templar Knights.
Although the knights took the public name and works of Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, and their headquarters was where Yseult began her training, she knew and learned better. She was considered a prodigy, scholastics and militant training seeming to come to her naturally. She was accepted into the order after an unprecedented training period of only five years.
Recent History
A Fairly simple story. After taking her new name as Constance, to indicate her fidelity to God, the Order, and her numerous new friends and comrades, she as assigned to a team. The team had one other new member, Niigata Shiori. She was immediately attracted to her. Since the Templars took a lighter view on out of marriage romance, viewing many things as merely alternate forms of worship, their budding romance was not looked down upon. However, that connection was forcibly solidified when Shiori betrayed the team to steal a powerful book, and bound Constance's immortal soul to her own. Now wholly obedient to Shiori's will, Constance was forced to hide the betrayal for more than a year before being ordered to assemble a raiding team to strike at a threat known as Tallic. The team was all killed, except for Constance. She was presented to Shiori during a dinner and Shiori took her back as her own.
Constance was killed by Hikaru when he embarked on his mission to punish Shiori by taking all that she cared for from her. Though she used all of the holy powers at her disposal, Hikaru easily defeated Constance through simple deception. She ended with a holy spear through her heart, one she herself had called down from Heaven, and was given a fiery funeral by a certain recently redeemed angel.
