Discarded Ribbons

These are the black ribbons frequently seen in Niho's hair. Their discarded nature comes from how they were most recently obtained. They are typically symbolic of black magic, corruption, and possession, however it is conjectured that they have lost most of their potency after being discarded and now mostly take on the traits of the person wearing them. Certainly since Hikaru started wearing them, he has started showing a darker, more ruthless aspect. Of course, this could simply be a side of him that has not been seen until recently, as he may have chosen not to display it.

They were first seen on Niho himself, obviously, making a brief appearance on John Markinson when Niho possessed him. Later they appeared in Mahou's hair, while she was involved in Operation Catalyst, as a symbol of the taint applied to her by the Necrowombicon. When Operation Catalyst ended and Niho was sealed as part of Miho, the ribbons no longer served a purpose and were lost or forgotten, relegating them to the Trash World. Hikaru found them there in a hybrid of Miho and Ash who used them to enslave him and bind him to Niho. Hikaru broke free of Niho in the trash realm with Ash's help, and kept the discarded ribbons as a trophy. Because they came from a plane considerably less substantial than the material world, they have lost much of their native power.

When not in use the ribbons stay in Hikaru's hair, the same way Niho wore them. When in their normal form the ribbons can change length at need and be used as blades independantly of each other. They can also be reduced to microscopic threads while remaining strong (unbreakable) and sharp. They can also be formed into a simple black katana and used as a melee weapon. Hikaru can choose to infuse them with his own Ki and Seifuna's energy, greatly enhancing their power. This usually gives themthe form of two wings on Hikaru, the left is white while the right is black. The wings can take many forms as wings, or Hikaru can change them into a variety of bladed weapons.

The ribbons are current in the possession of the Mihoist Sayuri.

It is unclear what would happen to the discarded ribbons if Niho or Miho made an appearance in the comic or in forum roleplay wearing the real ribbons.
