Jabes
Creator: Jabes
Affiliation: None, but has worked with ORAZ, TOP and COM
Threads: Started in The Great Fanboy War, continues on and off

Basic gist: pretty much, well, Jabes, but anti-powerful, with a bit of John Brady mixed in

Real name: Jabes, John Brady, that guy, stop him, what the hell is that?!?

Physical Description: Imagine a werewolf, of the classic Gaelic style, but without the fur, the bloodlust, or the mercenary tactics...wait, maybe, take a person, and give them 'true' wolfish personality, except for actually having a pack, killing on purpose even to eat...I know, take Tigger, add a bit of a wolf, add in some randomness, and then chew on some plutonium...yeah, that might work.

Jabes appears as nearly six feet tall, heavily built, though not truly large (approx 200lb), fuzzy, friendly, and ridiculously naive.

A the Jabes (multiples are not known of, but would be dreaded if there are more than the one) typically enjoys anything that most other creatures would consider threatening...as a thaumivore, anything of high-tech, magic, or 'n1nj4'-level powers basically makes it stronger, at the same time weakening whatever would try and effect it; however, well-trained, modern-armed beings not using enhanced equipment would find a the Jabes a rather easy target to nuetralize, especially if they just tried to talk it into submitting.

Characterization: Really, the less justified your strength, or the more outwardly focused your strength, the more a the Jabes can grow off of it. Even without such supplies, abnormal-to-human feats are considered as easy, but only to an extent. A penchant for eating anything that is magical/edible (edible being anything he can bite through) and non-sentient means multiple dimensional keys, magical charms, and sammiches are typically absorbed somewhere into the musculature of a the Jabes. Above all, though, a the Jabes is not a confrontational being, and is quite easily talked into taking your side, even if it was sent at you intending to fight against you. Capable of speaking more than a few languages, Jabes can be convinced to side with almost anyone that doesn't ask him to attack his known friends/innocents to a rather extreme point.

Jabes has little actual ability to carry a grudge, harbor a regret, or stay angry. Just because you were an enemy yesterday means nothing today, as long as you don't threaten as previously mentioned ones a the Jabes would protect.

When it comes to friends/etc, nothing is more loyal. Like a stray that has found a true home, a the Jabes would die before letting a known enemy cross the threshold in the slightest, but, just as confused as said stray, only can deal with blatant threats. Really, guys, check on Ash, you'll see, easy to deal with if you don't identify yourself as an enemy.

Resources/Abilities/Powers:

-Abilities: Jabes can absorb magic, high-technology, and anything n1nj4/supernatural, but lacks power against base threats. The more realistic-human, less Megatokyo-verse an attack is, the more it can hurt...bullets hurt, fireballs are tasty, knives hurt, knives thrown by a n1nj4, though, are dodged.

-Areas of Knowledge: The typical a the Jabes knows Latin, Gaelic, English, and (very) limited Japanese, as well as classroom-Mandarin. A the Jabes can deal with most basic-craftsman type devices, including computers, locks, engines, bombs, simple tools, cooking utensils, etc...but only shows special skills in driving (anything that can be driven/flown/sailed) and in biting things (remarkably useful when dealing with computers and/or the kitchen).

-Immunities: Magic and High-tech have various effects...typically, the more serious the attack, the less over-powering and more threatening the attacker, the less likely a the Jabes can adequately deal with it. A real instigator force, in mechs and hover-tanks, may be slowed down, but won't be more than somewhat hindered. On the other hand, with super-powered individuals, their own power feeds it, so that they literally cannot beat a the Jabes, only force it into a less-playful mood, possibly endangering their own selves....if they don't just convince him to go elsewhere, that they are friends, or to play with the shiney objects over there "ooh, shinies!"

-More than anything, Jabes' are thaumivores...the more N1nj4 you are, the more you are in trouble. Don't throw a fireball at them, they taste like gumdrops. On the other hand, a the Jabes is very much a creature of reality, so, if you won't just send in non-high-technology forces, talk it out of fighting you, or distract it, you can mess with reality. A ripple in reality hurts Jabes worse than any normal being, mostly just by throwing off its usually near-perfect detail recording of its sorroundings. This means that a the Jabes best defense, typically just not being in the wrong place at the wrong time, goes all haywire, so, suddenly, the falling 15ton mechanical-suit (big mech) DOES land on him, or close enough to throw him around real bad, rather than being a fun toy to run around on.

-Traits: Animistic: Vere (werewolf/cat/bat type thing), naive, thaumivore, takes on traits of objects consumed (example:dimensional keys eaten allow some dimensional jumping, soda consumed allows some burping)

Backstory

Jabes was a pet of Wraitha (contact directly for that backstory (AIM:Jabes of MT), later adopted by an Angel (pending character/author). Never really adapted to living on its own, it relies on an over-developed sense of trust, extreme unpredictability, and some rare effects on random casuality to survive.
