Kimiko Army
Character: Kimiko
Abbreviation: KA
Leaders: DietWaterCzar, Derian Hatcheter, Alexander Mackay
Threads: From the very beginning.

The Kimiko Army. A legend in the annals of Clan history. They were one of the few 'First Ones'. The great DietWaterCzar led his people in a campaign of subterfuge to have the Church of Miho and Yuki Liberation Front destroy eachother.

Much chaos ensued, before DietWaterCzar used the Demon Serum to become DevilBloodCzar. A disgraceful event, this 'DBC' ravaged the city in a mindless rampage. If it were not for Pirogoeth, the Bright Lady, all would be lost. With the help of Kimiko, the beast that was the leader of the Kimiko Army became complacent and accepted its end willfully.

Thankfully, DietWaterCzar himself was found within the corpse of the beast, as if he never became the monstrous DevilBloodCzar.

After a few more incidents, DietWaterCzar eventually decided to disband the Kimiko Army, but continued to involve himself in the conflicts that engulfed the city. As well, the Kimiko Army did not follow his orders and disband, and instead gathered under Derian Hatcheter, formerly an officer of the KA and direct subordinate of the Czar.

Now, with the Church of Miho gone, Hatcheter, as well, has departed, his faith in the faction's goals shattered.

And yet, the Army persists.

Now, the last officer of the faction, Alexander Mackay, has taken command. The Kimiko Army has fallen from its grace, diminished to a mere surveillance organization also referred to by the designation KAIN, or Kimiko Army Intelligence Network. They seek to spread the word of the Divine Avatar of Pixie Mischief, and have vowed to protect and serve the people of Megatokyo, a goal for which their Idol would most certainly be proud.

They have taken the words of Nanasawa Kimiko on Mumu's radio show, and interpreted it into a new mission statement for the entire faction with respect to everyone, not just fanboys.

They are KAIN, and they will help those who are in need, in the name of Kimiko.

(However, the last words of Hatcheter have been recorded, and understood. The Army is not as concerned with the protection of Kimiko as they once were, as they indeed realize she never really needed their protection - that she was beyond their influence or guardianship anyway. KFH can have that job, anyway)

Organization

Commander Mackay's rise to power brought about a revision in the organization's structure, to better facilitate it's new mission of information gathering and anonymous assistance.

  • KA-Cmd-1.gif - Commander (Taisho) - Commanding Officer, otherwise known as the supreme leader of the faction. Currently held by Mackay.
  • KA-Col-1.gif - Colonel (Taisa) - Executive Officer and Second-in-Command. Currently held by Hakkera.
  • KA-Cpt-1.gif - Captain (Taii) - Officer in charge of multiple squads. Chief Engineers are 'officially' Captains, like Chief Engineer James Hawking.
  • KA-Lt-1.gif - Lieutenant (Chui) - Officer in command of a single squad. Jun'ko Zane is an example of a squad leader.
  • KA-Sgt-1.gif - Sergeant (Gunsho) - Officer that usually acts as the second-in-command for a squad. Richard King is one such officer.
  • KA-Spc-1.gif - Specialist (Heicho) - Generic operatives of the Kimiko Army. They usually have moderate experience in the field.
  • KA-Rct-1.gif - Recruit (Nitohei) - Also called a Rookie, or even R00k13, these are the freshest of fresh meat among the Kimiko Army's ranks.

4 Agents/Operatives to a Squad, 3-6 Squads to a Company. All company commanders, and the KA-1 squad, answer to the Colonel, directly, who will defer to the better judgement of either the Commander, or the Faction's Command AI (Piroko).

Equipment

The faction still has access to the stockpiles that both DWC and Hatcheter left behind from their commands. This includes a large number of military vehicles, weapons, and miscellaneous hardware.

Certain weapons seem to be preferred by agents, however...

Commander Mackay has personally used the Dragunov at firing ranges to practice. He says the weapon relies a great deal more on the skill of the user than any other rifle. Mackay has been reportedly the only human to ever hit targets flawlessly out to 1000m with a Dragunov, and it's suspected he can use the rifle out to it's suspected true maximum range. MOA ratings are improbably dropped considerably when rifles are in his hands, apparently.

There are also more advanced weapon systems used by KA operatives. One such weapon is the PPG. The operatives of the flagship Kimiko Army squad, KA-1, make use of this as their standard Anti-Personnel Side-Arm, in addition to an H&K UCP for Anti-Armor. (Granted, King seems to prefer to wield an assault rifle, often the H&K XM-29, for the use of anti-personnel)

In addition to the more standard military vehicles such as HMMWVs (Humm-Vees), the KA has a single specially-designed labor unit that, although it has not been tested in the field, is suspected to have an immense amount of maneuverability and combat potential. The custom mecha is named Kaminari, the Japanese word for Thunder Bolt.
