Reversal of Fortune

Reversal of Fortune is an upcoming plot that BozoCat is going to run in the near future, hopefully in concert with as many authors as he can physically drag into it. He hopes to completely monopolize several threads and get everyone in the game excited about it.

Basic Gist

A bunch of Villains everyone thought dead or destroyed return, wreaking comedic havoc on both the city and reality. PCs are tasked with figuring out what their devious plot is in time to stop it, or more likely try to undo it after the evil deed is done and reality itself is rewritten.

Time Frame

Light foreshadowing has already begun. Heavy foreshadowing will take place at the end of and after Lazy's demon thing. When the actual thread starts depends on when I finish reading the archives, how quickly I get other people on board, energy and free time, and who else wants to do plots and how cool/compatible they are.

Themes

The overall mood of this thread should be extremely silly, with undertones of dramatic and overpowered, because the Villains are intended to be able to handle whatever the PCs throw at them and have it be a good contest.

-Breaking of the fourth wall.

-What's it mean to be a Hero or a Villain

-Being stylish

-Being Out of Character

I hope to have no deaths, PC, NPC, or otherwise during this thread. Light-hearted is the name of the game.

The Plot

Hasn't started yet. Roughly, Villains return, undertake a secret plan to change reality itself, and plunge the city into chaos as a byproduct. I won't be revealing much more than that, even the identity of the Villains, to preserve Dramatic Surprise.

Consequences

None. Thread has not yet started.

The city should return to normal after the end of the thread, but people will remember what happened.

The Continuity Monk will be temporarily incapacitated, and some method will made chosen which will prevent him from plotfixing everything away after the fact.

Useful Roles

Everyone's involved, everyone's invited. If for some reason someone doesn't want to participate, I'm sure I can find some way to make the plot not affect them, but I haven't come up with a contingency yet.

Bad Guys:

-One of the Villains has a character but not an author. If you want to write an extremely silly, overpowered Villain and can do so without pissing people off, talk to me. Otherwise I'll play both Villains.

-At two points in the plot, it will be possible for large number of PCs to become Villains. They should do so, and can then undertake their Villainous objectives and create vast amounts more chaos. Mwa ha. Preferably they should be silly rather than actively evil.

Good Guys:

-Figuring out what's going on with the city, why, and who's behind it will take a major part of the first few threads of this plot arc.

-After that there will be some attempting to outwit the bad guys before they finish their plan.

-In the very like event that the bad guys succeed, the good guys will have to work together to undo the damage the bad guys have done in a Dramatic Showdown.

-Some good guys will be captured by bad guys and require rescue, which will be difficult and thus fun. I have already spoken to some of the potential captives' authors.

-A great deal of chaos will result as this plot progresses, and I expect fighting that chaos to be a big part of the action.

Other:

-I'm bringing some very old characters back. Old authors are encouraged to use this as a chance to return. I'm looking squarely at Thale and Snow when I say this, unlikely as it is. But there are other people I'd love to see come back as well.
