Physical Description

The Battle Cruisers:

Large Ships these mass at 30,000 tons each, the only two known are the E&L and the K&P (SoKaP).

Crew: 300+

Weaponry: Two spinal mount particle beam cannons. 4 heavy lasers, split between the wings. Capital missile hard points on the belly capable of carrying six non-nuclear ship killers. Over a dozen counter battery defense systems.

Operations: Capable of Orbital Bombardment, Ship to Ship, Ship to ground and atmospheric operations.

Middle Ships (Corvettes)

These are smaller more egg shaped or aerodynamic shaped vessels capable of carrying smaller vessels or ground troops. These ships are considerably smaller than their large flagships. These range around 8,000 to 10,000 tons.

Crew: 25-300

Weaponry: One spinal mount and two heavy lasers and half a dozen pin point defense weapons scatered across the hull.

Operations: Ship to Ship, Ship to Ground transport and support. Strafing runs and small engagements.

Small Ships (Scout, troop carriers, light attack vessels)

The smallest of the Shipper fleets, these are designed for high speed, low profile, quick missions. They do not carry enough armor or weapons to make them viable in large scale operations with heavy combat. These range 100 to 1,000 tons.

Crew: 5-25

Weaponry: Minor point defense. The smallest, the MxD, barely managed to carry one medium laser in a spinal mount setting.

Operations: Low risk missions, general support, crew carriers. Ship to Ship, Ship to ground.

Areospace Fighters

The Shipper Fleet carry a small squadron of Aerospace fighters. These are incredibly fast, capable of attack runs on ground targets and air targets. Designed to protect the larger and more cumbersome ships from smaller more harder to hit targets they also serve as air cover for the fleet. Due to the small size of these fighters only those who were not yet launched from their ships survived the nuclear attack that crippled the fleet in SD. These ships range in the tonnage of 10-100 tons.

Crew: 1-2

Weaponry: Standard weaponry, a mix of Laser, Ballistic and missile.

History to Date

Backstory:

The Shipper fleet started as a few guys in a boat throwing rocks at one another, or so the myth goes in SD. Each boat had a set character pairing. The earliest of the Shipper boats were the Supporters of Kimiko and Piro (The SoKaP) and the Erika and Largo (E&L).

As the years went by these SD factions grew, as the size of each boat's crew grew so did the vessel, first a schooner then a ship, still the factions grew, and so did the rivalries between the similar factions. Most notable where with the E&L and the M&L. Each thought they were superior to the other and many battles were fought.

Each progressive comic spelled doom or success for various Ships of the Line, and their powers became connected to the fans and the strip itself. Battles slowed as changes to the very ships began. They grew from the sea to the sky and from the sky to the space beyond. Every increase of manpower or Story helped make this change easier.

The Strongest of the fleet, also the oldest are the SoKaP and the E&L, both reached their current state as Capital class battle cruisers. The smallest of the ships is the M&D, a fresh and young but still growing faction of loyal men and women wishing for the SEGA agent and the Darkly cute to get together.

During an engagement with the SD version of Sareth, Teji "Hibiki" Omaru summoned the Shipper fleet to his aide. in a last ditch move that Sareth used a nuke to destroy the power the Ships were using. Forced to retreat they opened a portal. It was there the Leader of all shippers, Hibiki found his lost faction and a way home.

None so far.

Current Status

30 % casualties amongst the crews from the battle. The ships had all survived, but even the least damaged had lost a number of critical systems, and less important systems had been parted out to provide spare parts for the repairs. The crews had been driven to exhaustion just trying to keep things barely functional. Hibiki is currently looking for a space to land them in order to affect repairs and R&R for his beleaguered crew.
