Original TC drinking game thread
The purpose of the TC Drinking game was to poke fun at overused cliches within the game, poke fun at amusing cliches within the game, poke fun at ourselves, and educate new players about things that we thought were kind of dumb. The idea would be that you would be reading through the forum archives, getting progressively drunker as you came across these incidents in the thread.
It was spawned when user:BozoCat decided to make a TC-specific version of the Story Discussions Drinking Game.
The version below has been edited down to remove links to out-of-date characters. I've attempted to link to who was being referenced, but I could easily be forgetting people. --BozoCat 23:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

New Player's Drinking Rule
- Drink if you are completely, utterly, or spectacularly confused about what the hell is going on. Stop when it all becomes clear or you're out of stuff to drink (excluding bleach, which must be kept in case of emergencies). (Or in Zeth's case, old player's drinking rule)
General Cliches
- A drink if a character is described as wearing cool sunglasses. Especially indoors or at night. (Too many to count here)
- A drink if a character, either newly introduced or senior RPer, is wearing a trenchcoat
- A drink if a vampire or half-vampire is introduced. DarkTan, Anaryn, Nex Angelorum]]
- A drink if a werewolf or half-werewolf is introduced. Wraith Umbra
- A drink if a kitsune, or half-kitsune is introduced. Himoto Kitsuko, John Markinson
- A drink if an EDS is introduced. Dao

- A second drink if a character dies in a thread. Ash
- Two drinks if the someone isn't Dao.
- Drain the bottle if the provoker is female.
- A shot every time there's a zombie horde
- A shot for every dramatic entrance
- A shot if somebody gets naked
- An additional shot if it's not Ash in a fanservice post.
- Half a sip if a bishie angsts Lightsider, Lightsider, Lightsider, Lightsider,...
- A drink whenever a male character enters who is described as Bishie.
- A drink whenever a female character enters who is described as Kawaii.
- A drink every time someone is purposely vague. (Mahou, the Instigators)
- Two drinks if someone does something phenomenally stupid, other than Niwatori Chinou
- Two drinks if someone is in two or more places at once. Ash
- A drink whenever Bob's Hard Walls is mentioned.
- And a second when a new 'Bob's Hard ...' product is introduced.
Weapon Cliches
- A drink if a new character is introduced with a named magical weapon. (Too many to count here)
- Add a drink if it's a sword. Lucius, Skorpion
- Add another if it's an unbreakable magical weapon. Alexander Mackay, DietWaterCzar
- Add another if it's a talking magical weapon. Kizagami Jubai, Saeko
- Add another if it's a katana.
- Bonus drink if you've met all of the above criteria. Sabin, Zeth
- A drink whenever a male character enters with far too many guns, or a few overly-described guns.
- A drink whenever a character has desert eagles. Anthony Kane
- A drink whenever a character has an overly-described vehicle. Yes, Gundams count. Erden Edgewood, Skorpion, Lucius
- A drink for every secret weapon cabinet
- A drink for every gun bigger then the wielder
- A drink whenever swords beat guns. Sure it's a rule of anime, but it still makes no sense.
- A drink if someone claims to have gained possession of the Necrowombicon/c00l th1ng
- Two drinks if it's the real 'wombicon/c00l th1ng and not a copy, virtual copy, copy-on-ebooks, M$-modified copy, or whatever other versions there are.
- Another drink if a claim towards said possession starts a big argument. You're gonna need it.
AuthorSpace
- A drink every time everyone seems to ignore you.
- A drink if an author needlessly apologizes for a perfectly good post.
- Two drinks if a veteran author does the same. (Does Kitchan count for this?)
- A drink if Real life interferes with an author's post.
- A drink if an author uses an obscure acronym without explaining it to the yung'ins.
- Drain the bottle if Shoka returns to tC
- The liquor cabinet if he stays
- Misato Katsuragi's liquor cabinet if he starts a faction like Mike the Vagrant
- If he doesn't pie at least 12 people within the first 5 minutes, just go ahead and throw your liver in the trash. You'll never see it again anyways.
- Empty the cabinet if Mahou doesn't meep. *meep*
- A drink every time several people make their own version of what's going on and none of these versions is even close to one of the others.
Character Cliches
- A drink every time someone gives Wizard of Kitty skittles.
- A drink if a character's cursing is compared to Snow's.
- A drink if Mahou angsts.
- A drink if Ash sets someone/thing on fire.
- Two drinks if it's her pants.
- A drink whenever Skorpion destroys a parking meter.
- A drink whenever Saeko flashes her undies.
Faction Cliches
- A drink when the Mihoists do something soooooo creepy.
- A drink if the OCSB's kitchen is destroyed
- A drink if the KFH's front window is destroyed.
- A sip every time a Largoist speaks l33t.
- A drink if a character or author previously thought gone returns. Thale repeatedly, Fish, Noble, Hibiki.
- Drain the glass if an entire faction does the same. ToP
- Spit it back up if said people disappear immediately within two weeks. (All of the above except Fish).
- A drink if a shadowy organization trying to take over the world is introduced. Instigators UEA Microsoft
- A drink anytime someone alludes to a Microsoft plot to take over or destroy Megatokyo/the World/the Universe.
- Two drinks if they succeed temporarily.
- A drink if someone decides to try and start a new faction. (Too many to count)
- Polish the bottle off if they get people to join. EDT, LDG, FGTL
Meta
- A drink whenever someone posts up a Nani Naze _______ or an omake.
- A drink if someone references to the tC drinking game in their post.
- A drink if the Continuity Monk is summoned (exclude Battle For Continuity for obvious reasons)
- A drink if the OOC Monster is written in-character. Exclude Day of the OOC Monster for obvious reasons.
- Take two drinks if the OOC Monster is used IC for the purpose of bumping a thread.
- Drain the bottle if the OOC Monster doesn't eat a bit of roofing tar.
- Clutch your bottle in a white-knuckled grip and flee in terror if you've just found the post where the OOC Monster is given backstory.
- A drink if the Fourth Wall is destroyed.
- A drink if a TC fanfic appears. OLSAL
- A sip for every Eva reference
- Two swigs for everytime the stargate gets mentioned.
- A drink for every Halo reference
- A drink if someone makes a reference to ancient mythology. (Except during New Blood)
- A drink if esoteric references to Japanese mythology are made
- A drink if someone complains that the quality of the roleplaying in TC has gone down.
- A second drink if someone says the game's about to die (this has been happening for at least two years, and guess what, it's not dead)
- Choke on your drink if someone old says the quality has gone up since the time they were writing.
- A shot every time a side plot happens to be created
- Empty the liquor cabinet if Fred posts in the thread. (It only happens once, in Fanboy War)
- A drink if a character is introduced who would have no conflicts with an entirely Piro-vision world. Sputnik, Bliss
- Suck some beer out of an eye-dropper whenever a very long thread is either solved by one guy with a huge gun, or drifts away, with the original writer frantically trying to keep it alive by bumping it.
- A drink any time OOC relationships cause trouble IC.
- A drink any time somebody makes an entire OOC hate post.
- Pass the bottle around with good community spirit any time the above problems are solved by drinking.
- A drink if someone compliments MT:tc
- A drink if someone says they read at least 1 series of MT:tc.
- Two drinks if they read ALL of Mt
- tC
- A drink every time earlier tC threads are mentioned (except in a series, like RDG)
- But just a sip if it's the Fanboy War
- A drink if someone references a joke from the Chat or IRC rooms
- Two if it's a reference to "Bishie Sacrifice", or "Cinnamon"
- The FGTL brewery if WoK's the one who says it (unless bitten by the OOC Monster-- that doesn't count)
- Two drinks if there is a songfic post in tC
- Empty the cabinet if there is a songfic post and it isn't angsty!
- A drink whenever someone mentions Hard, Soft, or Non-Cannons and they mean Canon. User:Sareth
- Three drinks if they mention Hard, Soft, or Non-Cannons, and they're actually referring to the guns. Arrr!
Common New Player Mistakes
- A drink every time someone feels the need to make OOC comments describing their characters abilities, equipment and/or backstory instead of working it into the narration.
- Two drinks if they use an entire post to do that.
- Drain the bottle if it's a new character that has no place in the story, is completely unrelated to the setting of the RP and never appears again. Actually, don't, because this happens a lot.
Other
- A drink if you see the Plushies.
- If you see the Dancing BG Plushie, drink everything you can find/make/whatever and run far far away. ^^ And then remember BG-sama said that that was his greatest legacy for the tC forums.
